Default IB

2 Subwoofers VS 1

Reason(s) other than increase in output?

Generally, do you need "more power" or "less power" when running IB?

EDIT: General rule of thumb when running IB is to have 4x the Vas. I guess tomarrow I'll be measuring up my trunk. This should help me figure the # of drivers to run IB in my application.

If you're running an IB setup, mechanical power handling goes down. That being said, IB is not an SPL setup by any means, so power really shouldn't be of too much concern.

As for box size, that's up to you. I've seen 1:1 (vas:enclosure size) IBs and 600:1 IBs. The resonance will change as will the total Q of the system, so you're best bet is to model it and get the Q down to the point you want. Below .7 is considered to be a flat response design, above .7 is peakier (but most people like the sound of a higher than .7 total Q).

ID 15"

Q is whether to run a single or a pair in my given application. I've downloaded WiniSD & have been playing around w/ it, but it's all new to me.

The AE woofers ARE IB woofers. I almost wonder if I shouldn't opt for those. I havn't came across any comparisons though (ID vs AE)

Edit: Anyone know the cost of an AE 15" woofer?

infinite baffle systems are not loud, you need the largest amount of cone that fits. Infinite baffles are sq based, they are for response only

Exactly what I'm going for.

Largest amount of cone of a single driver or together? I've seen ppl run single 15"s IB before, but not very often. Typically, I see them ran as a pair. I'm just wondering how that guy got away w/ running a single driver. I believe t'was an Altima & that's not really that small of a vehicle.
