Default Is the BTL becoming obsolete?

Okay so I was looking on the Fi website, just because. But as I was looking through the woofers I noticed that the BTL n2's are about $100 more than the SP4's. And I understand the reason for that is the fact that the price of neo is through the roof, but then I started to think.

With the Sp4 being almost 100$ cheaper than the BTL, and having a 4" coil, are there any benefits of having a BTL over the sp4 now? I guess other than weight. I might be missing something but it seems to me like the BTL isn't worth it anymore, which is hard for me to ponder, my ufo btl was my favorite single sub i've ever owned.

That's something that I was thinking about, I know my old btl was pretty efficient on only about 1500 rms, but I'm not sure about the n2's or n3's.

i would also look at what they are built/designed for.

The sp4 has a bit lower FS, seems more like a daily pounder and low end monster. The n2/n3 seemed to be more geared towards the spl end of things, not saying they wont do just fine daily though.

I had a BTL n2 15" and swapped to a SP4 15". Same SAz 3000d amp and 4.6 cube 31 hz 8" aero box. Trunk on 03 Camry.

BTL killed sp4 from 35 hz and up, Period. SP4 Sounded better below 35 for sure, but not much louder.

Just got my BTL N2 motor reconed to a 12" and ordered a second new N2 which should be showing up any day, Hopefully. If they would have made a 12" SP4 I probably would have gotten them though. Love my FI!
