Default How high can you cross subs?

How high can one cross subs at? I'm asking this question because I recently purchased a jbl ms-8 and I hear that you can't stagger frequency ranges! For example. If I set my mid bass 80hz-200hz, then midrange has to start at 200hz and go to 5khz and then the tweeters have to start at 5khz- and up. With the mid bass starting at 80hz then that means that the subs have to be from 25-30hz to 80hz. Is 80hz alright for subs?

80hz should be fine. I personally like mines at 100/120hz depending on amp/car.

It also depends on the driver sometimes IME. The MS-8? Sure, I bet it'd be just perfect crossed at 80Hz or so.

Crossing my SHD 18" at 80Hz doesn't work out too well though Rather 63Hz seems to work great.

That's what I usually do (well I set my ssf to 20hz) but the lpf on around 40-50hz. The only reason I was thinking 80hz is because idk how low I can actually play my mid bass 8's before bottoming out.
