Default do i have enough power for optidrive 6000d

Hi folks I am running ohio gen 270-300max alt optima yellow top and batcap2000 along with stock battery upfront. One run 0gafrom front to back. The amp is bridged @2ohms on two aq hdc3 12s. Since the amp does [email protected] I was wondering if I need todo any more for that power. I am not a competitor, just curious if this is sufficient for daily pounding.

i would think you should be fine while driving but i wouldn't bump too much while at an idle. your battery bank is not sufficient in my opinion.

I would say with the hodge podge of batteries and only one 270 that you are gonna need more electrical. Beef up your bank to at least 5 batteries if you dont plan on addin anymore alts to the mix.

its called parasitic draw.. it happens becasue the wetcell doesnt rest at the same high voltage as the agm's do.. and IN TIME WILL shorten the life of the agms and make them weaker
the short term effects are very minimal but long term (i.e. 5 or 6 months or so) you will strart seeting the agm slowly come down

i say 300 to 400ah TOTAL battery bank and another run of postiive and negative front to back
edit.. FOR SURE more wire
you are over the limit on a single run of 0g even if it is ofc wire..

Parasitic draw causes the batteries to "fight" each other. As one gets drawn down it then in essence becomes a "load" on the higher resting battery. That battery then pulls current from the higher battery, this cycle repeats between the batteries eventually bringing the state of charge on both batteries down. If not maintained properly this can and will cause troubles down the road. Even with all AGM batteries this can still happen. That is why when you have more then one battery interconnected you should maintain them with a charger.

well i can get another optima battery here for 100 so i keep all the batts as the sealed kind is that.i am definately going to have to run another 0ga to the back. i didn't know that mixing the batts caused that much of a problem. i always thought it was my stock alt that was killing them. ive gone through three batteries in the last 1 1/2yrs. and that was on a crossfire vr2000d! i am sure glad you guys answered my questions. oh and i have a battery charger at home, i need to put this on every night?
