Default removable port

Gonna be building a box for a xfl 15, thinking about 3 cubes with a removable port so I can play with tuning. Not gonna order an aero I like building with wood. I've done and octo pretty easy , I m assuming I can do this with a regular slot port. Is there a difference between square or rectangular, I'm sure there isn't just looking for recommendations

Port area is port area, be it square or rectangular or a circle, one may be louder but yes an interchangeable port will work regardless shape. I'm assuming you meant interchangeable, cause if you just take a port out you have a hole tuned to 270hz lol. And if you want play with tuning on a slot build your port big to begin with say and just build plugs that will slide and screw/bolt in.

I wasnt thinking about port area as much as tuning length, I ll get an idea of port area think 16 per cubic foot, Then If the port is removable then I can just cut shorter and shorter to get to the desired tuning.

I use sonic tubes from lowes. Very easy to use and cheap and u can cut one hole and tac the tube in and caulk around it and if u need it longer or shorter u can cut the caulk and pop the tacks out and slip in a new piece. And from what i have done with my box in removable port the sonic tubes sound better then a big square port

Pull the wax backing off the tubes, coat with resin and sand.
