Default Big Trunk Car.... Should I Downfire?????

I have a 93 Caprice and 2 new dc xl 15's. I've designed a box pretty close to dc spec with the woofers firing up and port to the side. My question is would it be better to build a box to the same specs but downfiring it against the floor instead of the well deadened trunk lid?

I personally wouldnt downfire, id point it towards the rear of the trunk. With any luck you would be able to rotate the box to several different configurations to see what sounds the best.

unfortunatley building the box and trying other configurations and angles is not possible in this build. I have to do it and get it right the first time but thanks. any other input?

One of my best sounding setups was downfiring in a trunk. I had two 15's downfiring into the spare tire well. The box was raised about 2 inches from the trunk floor and the opening to the spare tire well allowed for good cabin gain, there was probably a 10in deep well they fired into. If you dont have a deep spare tire well then I wouldnt do it.
Down fire and port to the rear would sound great if done properly.

Fire toward the trunk. Always the best meter wise.

No it's not. Another internet rumor. Fire forward into the back of the back seat will be louder than firing towards the trunk? Not all cars have folding rear seats and some have huge bracing behind them too

That is not a internet rumor. I ran many trunk cars and without firing through the back seats with a port. Rear firing is the way to go.

meter at 30hz, the rear fire will crush the forward setup sealed legal.
