Red face Another silly 4th question

I have read a lot of horror stories of people going through all the work of building a bandpass enclosure only to have it sound like poop. I want to take the plunge but I am definitely nervous about it...

I am wondering If I were to build a perfect 4th order enclosure for a AA Avalanche 15 (or similar) and temporarily run my E-15 in it until I find the AA in good condition, if it will sound ok for the time being or just sound like complete poopoo.

Any thoughts? Should I just wait? Should I just build for the sub I have now?

Really going ti depended on how the e15 complies with the aa tuning... no straight answer...yes it can sound good pretty much no matter what if ir ratio isn't excessive ..could get lucky and it'll happen to like the aa tuning ...just keep in mind that it'll be a little big compared to the e15 preferred box so less handling so watch it

I think these are the answers I wanted to hear I don't mind going easy on the E-15, just as long as all of my hard work doesn't end up sounding like garbage. I'm also really worried I wont find an Avalanche 15 anytime soon :/ So I might end up building all of this for nuffin!

If u build the 4th order to common 15" sub specs on the sealed portion, and don't go over 3:1 ratio on ported section, the box should be usable with most 15's and still sound great...some just wont be 110% optimal

Also, stay in the 3/4 max port size range to prevent unload if u wanna make it SEMI MORE LIKELY to be used with diff subs... so dont go nuts huge but u need a good amount of port...4th orders love port
