I'm deciding to go with two 12" Fi Q's.. Dead set on the woofer. Wanting to go ported.. pretty certain about that.
My question is, what are the benefits of an aero-port type enclosure, versus a standard slotted port.

$1000 Budget for 2 woofers, box, and capacitor. Would be great to find some Fi's on here for sale, but looks like I will build mine from scratch.
Thanks for the replies
Firstly im sorry to hear that your system was stolen but glad to hear your able to get back on your feet and do a new and potentially better install you may not have had the opportunity or rather i should say the need or desire to do so otherwise.
well going with an aero versus a slot port will save you on the overall size of the box, as they will displace less air they also tend to have a very clean sound about them when use appropriately.
a slot port will be cheaper, and provide natural bracing for the enclosure as the connnect two opposite panels.
with the last comment I would like to first say, do not waste your money on a capacitor. they have a purpose, but will not benefit you for that t2500.
I suggest instead picking up a good quality agm battery, and if you have not alrready do the big three on your vehicle.
the big three are the main wires for electrical current in your car.
they are the battery ground, The positive wire from alternator to the battery, and the engine to ground. they should be done with 1/0 wire and the grounds should be sanded and clean.
$1000 should be plenty to buy a pair of qs a battery and 2 sheets of wood. either MDF or Birch ply is recomended 3/4
depending on where you get your equipment and if it is new or used, you may have enough left over for someone to build the box for you, if you are uncomfortable doing so.
Im sorry for the long text I hope this is helpful.
if you have some dimensions you would prefer to keep the box to post them up here or shoot me a pm ill be glad to point you in the right direction.
