Default Dummy test an amp theory

Alot of people wanna load test amps output but fight with rise and some times not having a sub that can handle the power...just came up with a wonder...could somsome take a beefy coil...submerse the winding in a fluid (water/ or something) obviously the non-conductive portion only to keep it cool and load test it? Just a thought

it would be easier to use a carbon load testing device such as is used for load testing car batteries.

Ceramic wire wound resistors submerged in mineral oil. I see no rise with my resistors.

Why not just buy a resistive dummy load to test with? You can get them in whatever ohmage you want and make a varible load bank that you can test at different loads without rise.

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..

If the water was completely pure this would work fine. However, that is pretty hard to get a hold of and the minerals in the water you would use would cause quite a few problems.
