Default Confused xs d7500/d6500

If the d6500 specs are:

58lbs
1070 mca (marine cranking amps not cca)
75ah
6500watts

and the d7500 is almost double the above specs why is there only a 1000w difference between the 2 batts

1700 ca (again at 32c)
140ah
7500watts

I asked myself is there a difference in other d series batteries. Yes, the d2400 is double the specs than the d1400 however it is double the power according to the power handling wattage.

Maybe I missed something......?

4 D6500 would be 232lbs v/s 200lbs in 2 D7500. The weight is made up of the lead in the battery for the most part and the lead is what makes the power and capacity.

Also, when you hook up multiple batteries together it optimizes the internal pressure and allows them each to produce more power individually.

3 D7500 would be stronger than 4 D6500 though.

The D6500 is only good for around 4000 watts as a secondary battery for daily use. The D2400 is a 12V battery and the D1400 is a 14V battery, so the 14V is going to have less capacity, because it is a 7 cell battery.

The ratings are BCI Standard CA (cranking amps).

ah. Thought the wattage of the d series is the number behind the "d"

Guess I should have looked at the voltage when comparing the other 2 lol

That is easily confused. Our part numbers for our D series D3100-D4700 are actual BCI Group size batteries. Example the D5100 is a Group 51 battery, so it would fit under the hood in any application that uses a Group 51 battery. The D3400 is a Group 34 battery and would fit in Group 34 applications.

The XP batteries part numbers are based on wattage, since they should not be used in starting applications under the hood.

The 1200-375 are not actually BCI Group Sizes, but are recognized sizes in the industry (mostly racing).
