Default suggest a loud 10" sub for a sealed box

I'm looking for suggestions for a single 10" sub for a sealed box.
I have a 700w rms amp @ 2 ohms that will be powering it.
I will build the box to specs.
Budget is around $250 max

I listen to all genres of music, and am really just looking for the loudest sub while still retaining good SQ.

Please don't suggest a ported box, I'm not interested in one.

Thanks for the suggestion Aaron!
It's funny you suggest the sa 10 because that's actually what I installed and is the reason I'm posting this.

The sa really didn't perform to my expectations in a sealed box. It doesn't get as loud as I thought it would and is pretty picky about what songs it sounds good playing.
I've tried everything and adjusted countless things to no avail so I'm going to try something else.

An ssa gcon was suggested to me, any thoughts on this sub?

Well the problem is you're looking for loud from a sealed. Sealed boxes aren't really supposed to do loud. Just hit hard. I think a gcon would be the same maybe even worse in a sealed box.

1st off what does "supposed to do loud" and hit hard" mean
last time i checkd it was the same thing..

sealed boxes basically have no rolloff frequency..meaning they will play a wider range of music without being as peaky as a ported box will
sealed box lack in output but more "rounded" playing range..

if you want louder from JUST a single 10 you need to go ported no if's about it.. your not gonna get anything worth bragging about with a single sealed 10.. or do a 4th order

the woofer you already has performs GREAT in sealed boxes and the best choice really.. getting a sub rated for more power aint gonna help either..
sticking with the same cone area and adding say 200 300more watts at best you will NEVER notice the "gain" to the ear.. all itll do is cause further stress on your electrical system

I realize I'm not going to make my car rattle apart with a sealed 10, I've had both sealed and ported boxes and know what to expect.

I just believe there are probably other subs out there that are more suited for a sealed box than the sa 10. Jacob has said himself that 95% of people go ported with that sub and it doesn't seem to be a go-to suggestion when someone asks what sounds good sealed.

Surely one sub can be in the same power range but perform better in a sealed box - whether it be louder or better sq right?

If the sa turns out to be the best I can get for my application after trying something different I'll just chalk it up to a learning experience

loud to the ears. "hit" is the punch that you feel. theres a difference.

i had a kicker comp 10 in a sealed probox once, years ago, it sounded great back then

an i never could recreate that particular sound with any of my other sealed/ported boxes since,
im 5x louder, but not as much range

people on the forums will always bash mainstream, but xplodes and comps do great on low power builds

i threw a pair of sa10s in a sealed box also, it lasted a day before i went back to my old setup

super quiet compared to ported, and nothing like the kicker comp from way back
