Default weird issue.

i am having a weird issue with my temp setup. when i am parked and just idling my bass slams pretty hard for a single 12, but when i start driving the output cuts in half. as soon as i park again within a matter of a few seconds the output will return to normal. i have no idea what is going on and its driving me nuts. i got a 300 amp singer alt and its only a 1k amp and my voltage doesnt even flinch if im parked or not, so i know that isnt the problem. also some mornings ill get in my vehicle and ill literally have no bass at all.

Sounds like a bad ground. Where are you grounded from? Im thinking either a bad ground when you installed the new alt or a bad ground to your amp. Im leaning toward the alt ground just because when it spools up your losing output.

the mounting brackets on the alt where ground down to pure steel, it was powdercoated maybe i should have cleaned up the stock mounting brackets?. the amp is grounded to chasis via seatbelt bolt. i know everyone hates seat belt bolt ground but they do go strait to the chasis and i ground them down to bare metal also. figured it would be alright for this little 1k setup.

dam i dont have enough wire for that, ill have to think of a way to make that work. i got lots of wire for my other setup but if i use that wire for this i will ahve to buy more for my big setup. oh i am also using 2/0 welding cable with 4g reducers.

so just currious, i havent changed my ground yet. to cold out today. but what would make a bad ground cause such a difference in output between parked and driving?

Ground loops do weird things man. Ive seen them do the unexplainable. Bad grounds are probably 90% of the problems that arise in car audio. A good ground is always something you want to have.
