How's it going, need some advice. I bought an entry level CDT speaker, and I'm not happy with the sound quality. The speakers get stupid loud, and don't distort. But regardless if it gets loud, I'd rather have sound quality.
front components: CDT CL 650FG. (I have a entry eleven coaxial speaker set in the rear)
Amp: Skar 85.4
Sub: 2-Sundown SA8v2s powered by a Skar 1500.1.
I have a 2009 silverado, and the stereo shop installed the speakers and tweeters into the factory Bose location. I think the sound quality is not what it should be. I called cdt and spoke with the owner I think, and he suggested that I take the tweeter and place it closer to my main 6.5 speaker. I'm just wondering if that's gunna have a big impact on sound quality. He also recommended getting their imaging tweeter and adding it to my setup. My current crossover has the ability to add animaging tweeter. After some research, it seems alot of people don't like the sound with 4 tweeters. I have no prob moving the tweeter and drilling a hole in my door panel....just wanna make sure it's gunna actually do something. I'm wondering if maybe I just got what I paid for
(Lower end cdt)
In my last truck I had a quality set of Memphis speakers that sounded awesome!! The speakers were coaxial, but the quality was very natural. These CDTs sound very pitchy and unnatural. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also I've seen some posts online about guys sealing their door panels with some material...any info on that? And whether it might help. (My last truck had none of that, and sounded alot better then this truck)
