Default Alternator noise in speakers

Hey guys quick question for you. I was messing with the wife's car today. I have a five channel amp pushing a sub and my front speakers. I decided to hook up the rear speakers to the amp today. After doing this I noticed I was getting a pretty bad alternator/whirring noise in the speakers. All I did was run my RCA's from the head unit to the amp and connect the rear speakers directly to the amp since the speakers were so close. I can hear it in the front a little bit but it's way worse in the back. Since I didn't have any issues before doing this I'm assuming the RCA I installed today is jacked up. Is that a safe bet or should I try something else as well? Thanks!

Chris

You could try some rca noise suppressors.

Umm.. are your rca's grounded properly. Do you have a Pioneer HU in that car...may have to manual ground out your rcas. Let' see.. are your RCA wires not insulated good and are located near your power wire?

Might have to do this:

Damn, that's a crazy ground on that head unit. No it's a kenwood. I tried all different variations of RCA's. My power wire is run by itself on the left side of the car everything else is on the right. It may be something with my head unit (RCA outs front/rear/sub), I'm not sure. If I only use two sets of RCA's it's fine, but as soon as I plug that third set into the unit the noise comes back. I ended up going to radio shack and buying two Y splitters just using the front RCA's so I can patch them to the rear speakers on the amp. It got rid of the whine. I bet if I grounded the RCA's on the back of the head unit like that pic it would probably go away. Thanks for the input fellas.
