Default speaker wire.

What are your guys rule of thumb for it? I usually use 8 gauge etc when i can. But had to break down and pick up some scosche 14 gauge yesterday for my subs.

How well would 14 gauge hold up? its cca of course. And i have other wire i can mix in but i dont want to. Power is about 700 per sub.

I never use cca speaker wire...100% pure copper. Use 12 gauge myself. Unless your running multiple subs and amps, 8 gauge speaker wire imo is a bit overkill. Not gonna improve anything.

Not really. Ive gained a couple tenths going from ofc 10 gauge to cca 8 gauce. both audiotechnix wire .There is a difference just not enough to care. Im just curious to see if 14 being the walmart stuff it is would catch on fire or if i could make it effective.

Its not so much massive. as a low cost high Db thing going on.
4 flxx 15s ap3k in a wall. Already built and have already got a 50.6 on a bb2400 using scraps of old 12 gauge wire mixed together. and i wanted to at least get all new wire cca or not in to hopefully be more even current flow. ive seen speaker wire melt before. 2 bb2400s clamping [email protected] using 12 gauge wire on a dd 3515 wire got a little black lol
