Yeah I have been hooked on audio for over 20 years too. When I was 8 growing up in pheonix az my friends older sister always had her boyfriends over with there mini trucks. Showing off there latest set up. I was hooked ever since. I got my lisence when I was 18 and finally got my first system. 2 Rockford HE 12s and a old Rockford 200a4 lol. I'm a bass head and always will be! I get mad when people put down our sport and hobby. They don't understand anything about real audio. They assume that we are all immature people that don't want to grow up. it's soo much more then just putting a couple subs in your trunk and hooking up a amp. We are passionate about this hobby and spend countless hours designing and building, testing ect. Not to mention the money that goes into it. I know what goes into this hobby witch is why I always help out a fellow Bassheads. Any way I can

Default nice topic

My moment of no return was getting a ride home from a buddy in high school. He drove a chevette. Wedged in the back were two 15" stillwater designs Mohawks. He also had the purplest urban audio amp money could buy at the time. Game over, I was hooked.

When I was younger like 8 or 9, I would wait for my parents to leave and I would blast the HT tower speakers my pops had, I would take the covers off and watch the woofers.
Back then had no idea what was going on, just knew I liked and I had to know how it all worked. I was hooked. From then on all I heard was you play it to loud and your bass shakes everything, I did the whole computer subwoofer thing before getting a car.

Then in high school I would grab a ride home from a senior my sister knew, he had an Acura with 2 - 15s, I loved it, the install was clean. This was back when Cash Money Millionaires and Outkast was top charts. So lots of punch throat closing kicks.

That next summer that guy took me to a local comp and I was hooked. Did a bunch of installs in all my vehicles, did 2 - 12" in a center console that went from the dash to back glass in a 2wd dodge ram when I 16. After selling that truck the same year and buying the same truck just 4wd haha, I went to the moderate side of audio installing and more off road and did a "sleeper" install everything stock looking with sealed 10s under the front seats and moved to helping people with their installs.
I installed a lot of my friends stuff, when I was 18 I did 4 - 15s on 6k in an Expedition for a local kid. Was definitely a building shaker. After that I knew I would be doing this forever, and just relaxed and tried to stay up to date while enjoy other hobbies and new adventures, IE racing hare-scrambles and motocross, then college. Between those I had no money for car audio, so I just ran what I had for probably 4 or 5 years.

I finally got things moving in my life this past year and I am back at the money hole we call car audio.

Interested age 8-9
Hooked 15
Positive I would do this for the rest of my life 18
Still at it hard 27.

I have been a basshead since 13 watching peoples videos on youtube with big systems and hopped on the forums at 14 staarting acquiring knowledge on how to install it all and design it. Im now attempting to build about a dozen subs and im now 19.

I was 13...I heard my friend's, cousins 2 Orion XTR 10s in his single cab Ford. Back then that sounded like what now'a days was a 150+db vehicle.

Does anyone ever think about that? How those first few times you ever heard "serious" bass was as though you were hearing the loudest thing on the planet...no matter how loud it really was.

I thought I would grow out of it, but nope. I can't live without it. If I don't have a setup in my vehicle, it literally makes me fiend like a drug user does for their fix. Seriously...I get down-right aggravated...

I became a bass head @ age 13(1983).My boy Pat Flynt had a ford tempo: 6-12s(EV) all free-air 3 behind the seat & 3 in the rear deck. And supplying the beat(bass) was 3 Yamaha 50/50s,yea true old school powa.Back then in the hood no1 knew about 4th orders & ported boxes. That thang was what we thought real bass was all about,I been a fiend every since;and so is he,as he still bangs til this day & that was 30yrs ago.
