Default Competing?

How would i go about figuring out competing locally. A lot of googling has left me with a bunch more questions then i had going into this. I did come across this page United States Autosound Competition International (USACi) - Store Order Form about what division i would be in but again i am not sure what rule set a local competition would be using.

Being in TX, you're in the heart of USACi country so that's probably going to the be the org you'll see most often.

Tell me about your setup and I can tell you what class you're in.

I drive a ford escape 2007,
I have a yellow top under my hood with 2 runs of 1/0 to the back as positive and a double chassis ground.
I have 3 Sprinter batterys in the back
A saz 3500D with tool maker dual inputs and gounded with double 1/0 to the batterys.
I have a BTL N2 18 at 1 ohm in a ported box (one being built is tuned to 36 hz as thats good for bass race and still sounds decent as a daily)
I have some shitty nothing alpine pushing my door speakers which again are some shitty nothing kickers.
a 230 Amp alternator from singer is coming this week and i will be running only a single alternator setup.

Not a stupid question at all. It's whichever window is the lowest. And yes, it has to stay below that window line for you to compete in "Stock" or "Super Stock". Over the window line and you're in "Mod" with the guys with walls.

With that amp and below the window line, you'll be in Stock 601-1800. Power classes go by published 4 ohm rating of your amp. Unfortunately, that amp should be good for 0-600w, but the rating isn't there. There are more USACi freindly amps that do the same (or more) power that are legal for 0-600w. Like the RD D5 or B2 Audio Zero.5. You have to play the USACi game to be competitive.

Anything over 152 or so and you should be able to win locally. You need a 160+ to place at finals in that class though. But since you're building a daily box, I assume you aren't super concerned with going to world finals.

Would building a box for bass race cause me to sacrifice a lot in music and daily listening?
I was under the impression bass race was done with 30 seconds of music while not breaking out of your bracket.

They had a meca show in your town like a week ago.

Watch for more shows, they usually start to really get posted around this time of year.
