Default How to power my 7 speaker system?

I have the 7 speaker system in my 2008 Dodge Ram and all of the speakers have since been replace with PG, Polk, and Kicker.... That's a topic for another day.

So I have 3 polk 3.5's in the dash, two PG 6x9's in the front doors, and two kicker 6.5's in the rear doors. Is there a way to power all of these speakers with one 4 channel amp? How is this done?

not really. you'll be best off to buy a small amp to power the center channel separately.

or buy a amp with a 5th channel to drive the center speaker.

So if I understand you right, it's the center channel (7th speaker) that goofs everything up. What if I just didn't run the center channel?

Warning: potential newb comment following!

I was under the impression that with a four channel amp, each channel powered a single speaker. Is it still not possible to run 6 speakers?

Yes, but not well lol. run the 6x9's off one channel, 6.5's off another channel, 2 of the 3.5's of one channel, and the last 3.5 off the other channel. Again, not the best option lol

Seems like all of the 5 channel amps I look at have a higher output on the 5th channel. To power a sub or something. I have yet to find a 5 channel that would be for components in all five channels. At least here on the forum.

Either loose one speaker or gain one lol. Or 2 4 channels with an extra channel left over so each speaker get's it's own.

If you get another speaker in somewhere, then either 2 speakers per channel on a single 4 chan, or 1 per channel on a pair of 4 chans. If you lose one, then a 6 channel amp, or 2 per channel on 3 of your 4 available channels.

Or...get a 6 ch amp. You won't find a 5 ch amp that will fit your needs. The 5th ch on a 5 ch amp is for the sub only.
