That's the newer D3100. The older one had a cord strap handle.
I'm not 100% but sometimes there is a date printed or embossed into batteries as to when they were made...
I'd get it. Just take a DMM and fit it when you get there, make sure it charges. Not really a lot else you can do. They are tough batteries though, the XS.

I think the old style said 'MAX Amps 3,200' too. I'm thinking it was a couple of years ago but, I may be wrong.
If you get there and it looks beaten up, or doesn't feel right, either offer him a touch less or walk.

Pull the trigger son

Okay, something I just noticed was it says: www, xspowerbatteries, com
They then changed their site to: www,4xspower,com in around July 09'

IDK if this really means anything. I'm not sure if they would of had all of their battery sales halted, just to change the sticker... Hopefully Nathan will chime in.
Sorry about the multiple posts

Date should be punched out on the top.

If not, look for a small round sticker with one letter and one digit

E2 is a year old,
E stands for may (e is 5th letter, may is 5th month) and the 2 would be 2012
(or 2002 if you're unlucky)
