Default Small car, large alternator

Sick of only 14 mpg on the highway, so I'm buying a honda.

To small of a car for a large battery bank, don't want my ass an inch off the ground.

So, how bad will a 200-250 amp alternator bog down a little 4 banger?

I would rather not do 0-60 in ten seconds and 20 mpg

That was a 170a alt

For the love of bass people are willing to do anything. Thatd be like saying, why ruin your car by putting all dem der bass speakers in dat der boom box right behind ur durn head?

Tearing up the interior is one thing...

I'm not willing to sacrifice suspension and drivability though... No point in having a badass system when you can barely drive because your rear springs are shot

The alt itself shouldn't bog down the engine at all during normal operation. When you have your music up and the alt is working it will be noticeable though, especially at idle.

you'll see rpm drop and a little shake from the engine if alt is big enough, im going dual on the yaris. i carried about 400lbs of shit moving furniture, boxes said the weight on there and added up a little over 400 and the car still did fine. car is about 2000-2200 empty no seats get 31 mpg cause i drive like an ass.
1.5l 4 banger.
however the weight did drop it a quite a bit about 3" from the ground where its normally around 5" and if you have to swerve abit because some jackass cuts you off the weight tranfer laterally sucks and could be dangerous. need to buy coilovers/bags to adjust the preload to keep the weight up and the car at a certain height.

I drive th my 94 accord daily..and it has 500 lbs of audio gear and a mechman alt. My ass end is about 3 inches from the ground. I drive the speed limit and go slow over speed bumps and don't have too many issues. I don't think it really rides too bad, but I am getting new rear springs to raise my ass back up to stock...more because of the looks. And the alternator is no big deal in my mpg. But my biggest complaint is the weak ass belt wrap and under a heavy load the belt will slip and squeal.
