Default Deaden glass?

I have a ton of flex on my back hatch window on my 07 escape with My btl, especially right around 28-32 it literally breathes and i feel i lose a ton of SPL from it flexing so much.
Would putting a layer of audio technix 80 mill eliminate that at all?
Is there something else you would recommend for a back window that leaks sound like that?

If i were to seal up the back window (and possibly back side windows) with 3/4 mdf wood, would that make my car technically a wall for competition purposes? (i dont want to be in that division for what its worth)

Sound deadening wouldn't do anything for glass like it would sheet steel im pretty sure since its not a thin panel that resonates... deadener ads moving mass so it helps offset the vibration of panels... shielding the window from waves with a wood panel would work but Idk about class affects when competing

Boarding up the windows would move you to "Mod"

But... how do you know you're losing SPL? It might be helping you. Or make no difference. If you get a chance to get on a meter, have some friends brace the galss while you meter and see if it helps.

I can see the glass like moving so much its open to the outside world for split seconds, i was told that vibrations like that are sound escaping.

Never thought about having friends brace it and meter it.

but how could it be helping?

Some times flex helps to channel sound or move it through the car better/more efficient ...so holding the window (holding it well) vs not holding while on the meter should show if its a helping flex or hurting...flex being bad bad is usually associated with boxes mainly

The hatch in my CRX takes a friggin beating. But makes zero difference whether it's latched or has people leaning on it or whatever. Lots of loud trunk I've seen actually lose with people sitting on it trying to "seal" the pressure in.

It's just something you have to test.

what do people have to say about siliconing the hatch gasket?

that would minimize your hatch flex. {you might never get your hatch open again}
