Default Pair of SA-10s in 4th order... fail so far...

So I built a 4th order for a couple woofers last summer, and it kinda fell on it's face, so I shelved it for a rainy day when I could mess around with it some more...

Well, the rain has come and gone a few times... and I got my hands on a couple more-4th-order friendly SA-10s.

Currently, sealed side is 0.9 cubes, ported side is 3.8 cubes (before woofer and port displacement) - About 3.33 cubes after displacements. Port area is 60 square inches.

I've got a DATS, and ran a impedance sweep with the port closed off

Looks like about 49/50hz for the peak.

Removed my port plug, and ran the sweep again:

Looks like the dip is right at 51hz...
I'm dumping quite a bit of power into this thing - and the results are still pretty blah though... thoughts?

I think your ported chamber is too big.

Switch to .85 after displacement for sealed , 2.125 ported per sub after all displacements... try 75 sq inch of port tuned to 56

Wait... you're running "sealed" resonance by plugging the bandpass' port? So... the subs are like completely enclosed? What's that going to tell you? And resonance is the low spot dip AFTER the peak.

The bandpass alignment's resonance/tuning is 51hz, looks like.

What do you mean by, "the results are pretty blah"? Is it peaky or the output isn't there or what?

If my math is right - it's 1:3.6. Isn't a 1:3 pretty ideal?

56 sounds awefully high... I plotted for 47hz in WinISD - which told me about 0.9 cubes for the sealed side...
.85 for sealed, per sub - or combined?
I take it you've done one for the SA-10s? Sounded good?

Aren't those Hackmunch's instructions to find the sealed resonance? I may of misunderstood...
The low dip after the peak appears to be 80ish...?

The results being blah are the output - struggles to break a 141db on 1300 watts.

He says to play it without the port or loading wall in. Can't just plug the port

I think

56 hz isn't high for those subs in that size for there compliance... .85 per sub after displacements ... I have a "knack" for bandpass..its all I build
