I have a 06 porshce cayenne it has a 190 alt stock. I am wondering if i can send out my alternator and have it rebuild to put out more amps?If so whats the companys name. Also i am running a 4k amp and have 3 agm batterys. Is my stock alt going to have enough amps with my battery bank to run the 4k without voltage drop ? thanks for the help guys.
there are alot of factors to consider here... First off if your vehicle comes stock with a 190 amp alt you probably NEED that current for the utilities in the vehicle. I would try to figure out amp drawr before i sent off an alt. I can say that the more batteries you have the more alt amperage you may need. I have seen a 180 amp alt run four batteries or so but that was on vehicles that didnt have much amperage draw from the car itself. Other than that I think if it can be sent off I would do it but may also consider other aftermarket HO alts as well (SINGER)
