Default New alternator, idle charging issues.

Just put a new alternator in 230a.
At idle it charges at 12.6-12.8 (old 130 a alt charged at 14.3 at idle).

When I rev it up it charges beautifully, and holds the charge wonderfully at full tilt with the BTL SCREAMINGLY loud. Although briefly , not even a full second, charge jumps to 15.3.

I worry about the idle dropping so low, especially if this is gonna happen when i stop at the light and have to turn it down.

When I parka and turn the car off the batterys sit at 12.6-12.8 but after sitting for 20-30 minutes it jumps back up to 12.93 resting voltage.

Did i do something wrong with this install that the charge is weird or do i just need to bump up my idle speed?

I've seen this happen with a few dif alts I've put in peoples cars... usually just adjust the throttle set point so it idles a touch higher...usually it only needs a little like 100-200 rpm and it activates the alt full charge

yup.. like they said smaller pulley. And FYI the alt isn't charging if voltage isn't above 13.

whats the easiest way to adjust the idle on a ford escape? i mean i have a few rigged ideas that will work, but what is the official real way? a google search doesnt tell me much about increasing just resetting the idle speed

I had it on a charger for the 6 hours it took me to get this beast installed (first alt install ever :/) so they are decently charged and they rest at 12.9-12.93

Don't mod Ur Escape.. just go with a smaller pulley to make it spin a little faster..

It was such a pain to get to the alt, i had to jack it up on a lift, remove the ****ing wheel and than the splash guard, and all this plastic shit attatched to the alt itself to be able to get it to fit out. i would really like to avoid having to mess with that again :/ plus if i plan on competing they dont let me touch the throttle and max idle is 1200 so it would be nice to have it at idle to be prepared for that.
