Lightbulb **Advice** skar vvx 12s vs AQ Sdc2.5 15s

I have an opportunity to buy the 15's for around 200 maybe a little less or the 12s for around $270 maybe a little lower. Will be putting them in a Lincoln LS trunk so the box won't be huge. But I did have 2 alpine type r 15s and they got fairly loud low imo. I'm interested in low bass that will decent sq. I have a big audiobahn amp but will be upgrading soon. Really will be upgrading subs nd all at some point. Just would like to know which of these two setups would be best for now. I'm thinking the skars that way I can give them a good size box but would like input. Sure I left information out, let me know if you need more. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the advice! Another ? I agree 100% custom>prefab but if I found a solid prefab for around $50 would it really be that bad? Not wanting to spend too much on this setup. I could probably build one for that price though right? Don't have any tools though. Thanks again for any help. I appreciate your time.

well 99% of the prefabs out there are waayyyy wrong for 90% of woofers out there..
they always go with very minimal airspace and VERY minimal port area also
and usually tuned in the 40hz range..

mind you aq subs LOVE ALOT of port area..and like a fairly larger box..and 40hz plus tune is not musical at all ( unless you like death metal lol)

you can easily go buy materials n such for under 65bux

I have a lincoln ls myself and am interested to know how you got 2 15's in that trunk. Im sure it can be done as i plan on doing it fairly soon but from my calculations it would take some "creative thinking"

U definitely have options. One other thing you could also consider (depending on how much power you have available) is getting one really nice 15 and putting it in a 4-5 cu ft box with a good amount of port area on decent power and im sure you would be more than impressed

An extremely well built box could make a dual sound better than a AQ or Skar in a prefab. I'm new to the car audio world, but this is one thing I've come to understand well. A well designed box from an experienced box builder is damn near worth it's wait in gold.

it will be bad. not only will it most likely sound like farts lol but you just wasted 50 that could go to materials. dont and pls dont be cheap with your enclosure. do this buy wood you'll probably spend like 30-40 bucks in wood, then if you dont have the tools look around for tools. for example u can go to pawn shops, flea market, hell they even have good deals on tools at your local hardware store or homedepot. you'll be suprise how easy it is.

90% install (aka box) and 10% equipment
box and proper electrical are the 2 most important things
