Default AQ2200 at 1/2 ohm - priceless.

I got bored over the weekend and made a fiberglass tub base for a new box. Four dual 1 ohm DVC Fi 12s on a AQ2200... Man, that amp was fun before on just two, as a 1 ohm load. Now running all four, 1/2 ohm load before the rise... It came alive. I feed it clean signal, electrical seems to be holding up well, never below 12.5 on idle, 12.8-13.1 driving, barely clipping. I love this little power box! Lol

Big smile. BIG. Next on the menu - all 4 of the same subs.

I guess I was not expecting the 1/2 ohm load to allow the amp full control of he subs, and anticipated massive heat issues.

I also guess I was wrong.

get your electrical up to par and you'd be happier. your voltage drops suck for what you have electrical wise...

That's the worst of it that I've seen so far. Takes me about 15-20 minutes of going HAM to get there. However, I'm all ears - how do I "get it up to par?" Twin runs of 0 gauge are already in place, big three done, amp ground is direct to the rear battery, both AGMs are new, the alternator is, too. What would you suggest?

I'm...yeah. . I have had the SSDs laying around for a while, figured I'd throw them in along with the RE/Fi BL recones. Yeah, I know, not the optimal way, but it works.

Ok, no advice other than the "get it up to par." Thanks, that really helps. I guess everyone's a critic, but only a few get to be directors.
