Default HELP! - Port area question Box design 2fi q 12s

I am trying to get a box together for my to fi q 12s & I am looking at about 5 cubes net after port, sub, bracing displacement tuned to about 32hz powered by saz3500v2. I am stuck on port area or it was just less than I expected I could put 2 6inch aeros in but the length is what gets me. I was using the torres box calculator 5.57 per cubic foot & that seemed kinda low to me since the specs say 12-16ft per cu ft I know thats a general rule of thumb for slot ports but still. I guess what I need is some help designing a box my max dimensions are 19" Height x 39" Length x 17" depth. This is going in the trunk of my 99 camry facing the rear. I was wanting to try aero ports but a good center slot port is not out of the question. I am trying to keep the depth down so MAX dimensions would be 19inches Height x 40inches" length x 25inches depth. thank you for you input & help I don't know it all & know when I need to ask for help.

For those subs on that power you should be just under 4 cubes net with 1 6" aero port. That will solve all your other issues too.

Those subs are rated for 1000 RMS. If you are pushing just rated the 5 cubes net would be pretty good but your gonna be throwing nearly double rated power to them. Larger enclosure tend to be more efficient needing less power to reach max potential. To compensate for the added power a smaller less efficient box is usually needed.

I dont know if this matters or not they are the new fi qs rated at 1500 with cooling option & extra spider but still yes I am putting more than rated power on them. Main thing I just looking for some improvement over what I have them in now

The smaller the box is, the more power you can throw at the sub. Within reason. And aero ports require much less of the cubic ft ratio than the slot port

Fi suggests a 1.8 cu ft minimum per sub, so I would go no bigger than 3.6 cubes for both of the subs
And slot port area would be anywhere from 43 to 50 in^2 at 3.6 cubes.
