Default What wire to run??

I'm doing a new build and need some suggestions, I'm gonna be running about 4k and I'm looking to buy some wire. Would a single run of sky high 2/0 ofc handle that load? It'll be wired at 1ohm so after rise it's pry making 2500-3k

Alt output and battery situation is required to make this determination.

example, if you've got a 20ah batt under the hood and a 100a alt, but 300ah of batts in the back 1 run of 1/0 and a chassis ground would suffice. but if you've got a 100ah batt and 300a alt under the hood, with no batts in the back 5-6 runs of 1/0 front to back would be necissary.

Well I in my car now I have all stock wiring, I have a 50ah batt up front and a Xs power xp3000 in the rear and 1-1/0 run of cca knu, and a 1/0 ofc ground in the back, I have a stinger volt meter that reads volts at the amp and damn near full tilt it'll drop to 12.7ish, is there a need in my new car to run a run of 2/0 ofc sky high which is really like 4/0 or would a single run of there 1/0 do the trick? Trying not to spend a lot but want it right, and is really only like to run a single cable

The bigger, the better. I'd use the 1/0 wire for amps, same with to your alt/battery area.

Oh and OFC too. CCA, well there's a separate thread based on these two versions of wiring.

So is a run of 2/0 ofc sky high over kill? It'll run from front batt to the rear batt, then after that I'll use 1/0 to the amp, the amp will have 4 pos and 4 neg running into it

Nah...maybe a little but I'd rather have overkill than not enough.

If you can cram that 2/0 in your amp I say do it. The key is less resistance. Given that you have good electrical, 2/0 will allow for more current flow if you're pulling too much amperage for 1/0. I am running a 4k amp with 3 batts and 4 strands of 1/0 and it seems to do te trick though
