Default 2 12's, 2 15's, or 1 18??

I think I've finally broke down and decided to get new subs next year. Leaning towards the Sundown Audio X or Z series...whichever I can get my hands on. By then, the prices either new or used should be a little less. I'm planning to use the same amp to power them, which is in my sig. Only thing I gotta do really is buy a aftermarket alt which I may end up doing soon. My 4 10's will fund the new subs once I get closer to a choosing. I'm leaning towards the 2 15's(more cone area). Want to be louder than now. Don't plan on competing...no shows in this state anymore. Uh, take that back. None I should say close to me. As for room to work with, I have the entire back area....Tahoe owners know this!! My current box now is 5 cubes. I would rather not go over 8. Still wanna leave a little room in the back.
Discuss....

If you're looking for just loud i would go with 1 18" over the 2 12s for sure. I also think if you do just 1 good 18" in a good box, itll be louder than two decent 15s. So unless two really nice 15s are in your budget i'd just stick to one really good 18. It all comes down to budget though.

so do u have a budget? cuz if u can spend like 450 or 600 i'd get 3-4 new soundQubed HDS300's 15's and Cone area build to get louder. or even the hds215's would cost under 400 for 4 15s

Ok maybe not "everyone", but "a lot" of people. I'm not bashing, just saying.

How good are those? I was considering switching from my 2 15s sealed to two of those ported in my trunk.
