Default few sub building questions

Dumb question....I'm looking to build my own sub and I was wondering how the whole spider stacking works? Do you use a spacer and CA glue or just CA glue them together or both. What would either one be best for?

if there matching spiders, 90% of the time there stackable and state that there stackable. if they don't set on each other nicely, there likely not stackable. if there 2 different spiders, use a spacer so the spiders do not hit each other but remember spacing them makes them closer to the cone neck. you run a nice bead of ca around the edge to glue them together, clamping and drying when all stacked

not sure what you mean by the last question

Thanks for the great answers....I understand now.....what's the best baskets to use? The tc sounds ti baskets look the best to me because they have a 10" spider landing, they are really deep and look they would cool the voice coil well....am I right on that?

benefits of ti baskets-

-more room for forward and rearward travel
-bigger spider landing (8.5" on the 10, 10" on 12/15/18)
-visual aspect for many

using a 12 spoke or 4 spoke-

-smaller 8" landing on all
-less rearward travel room
-less cooling in a few aspects dependent on spacing/venting
-some don't prefer the looks

with a 2.5-3" voice coil, 8" spiders are sufficient for almost any builds (allow about 1.5-2" travel if spaced and spiders allow)

10" landings are nice since they can handle a 4" coil much better and offer bigger spiders so the spider body is not being maxed out under heavy excursion

When I get around to building a enclosure for it...I'm sure I'll blow it up not too long after....I have a ct sounds 4k and psi said the sub would handle 1800-2000 rms.........right now its a ma audio 15" hk motor with a 6 spoke 18" basket. Psi HD cone and surround. 4x 8" progressive spiders. Dual 2 ohm 3" 4 layer flat aluminum with a 1.6" winding height with triple tinsel leads stitched with direct leads.......My question is once I blow it can I beef it up more by using a ti basket , a couple of 10" spiders, a 8 layer coil with maybe a 2.5" winding height? Or is the ma audio motor not worth working with?
