Default I suck at decisions.

Need help. Getting new woofers soon and I've been thinking about this for weeks and still am going crazy over it.

I have a Jeep Cherokee and I'm doing a 4th order. Was PLANNING on doing 6 Custom Zv4 12s on 6 Ampere 3800s. Have 4 3800s right now, and I would have to buy 2 more. Subs would have nightshade v2 coils, SPL cone/surround, and SPL spiders. Would be mounted in the back on a single baffle like Jareds box, and they would be in a 4:1 4th order.

Then I got to thinking, I could do 6 Zv3 15s on 6 Ampere 3800s. It's actually significantly cheaper, only trouble is I would have a much smaller ratio. Even if I did 10 cubes sealed (which is a *tad* smaller for 6 15s) I would have 20 ported (so a 2:1).

I KNOW computer programs/models aren't the end all be all, but having said that, when I put both of these setups in there, the 6 12s in the 4:1 are peaking like 6.5db higher than the 6 15s in the smaller ratio... however, the 6 15s are up 3-4db at 30hz.

My goal is LOUD, not super low, just loud and painful. If anyone on here has heard Scott Bowmans truck when he had the Nsv2 15s in it, exactly like that. I'd like to be able to play down to 30 pretty good and destroy everything from 37-50+ , especially stuff in the 40s.

Which should I do? I've been told by several people to stop overthinking it and just do the 12s, but I'm all over. I'm leaning towards the 12s though. Open to other options, but I'm trying to add power (so 5 or 6 amps, not 4) and has to be Sundown. HALP

If you want to know 1.5cu ft. Net sealed per 15" in Scott Bowman's BEAST and 2.7:1 ratio if that helps!

Anyway 1.5cu ft. Per Zv.3 15" would be almost the same sound as the NSv.2's but a lil' bit peaking lower I mean very lil' difference that is not noticeable, in my opinion the Zv.3 would be better on the meter as well,

Good Luck,

Kindest Regards.

Do the 15's and use a smaller sealed side.

Done.

I'd go the cheaper route and do the 15's. You ask Jared or Derrick what the Zv3 15's can go in as far as sealed boxes goes? I know that's exactly what they use in the Terra because of it's ability to be in such small boxes

How about instead of the Zv4 with spl parts you do X12"s with spl parts. Would be cheaper

Zv3 15's can go in a box the same size as, if not smaller, than X12's and would be considerably louder

4:1 ratio with 30 cubes would make it 6 cubes sealed and 24 ported. That's definitely not enough for any 15, even Zv3's

Do 9 cubes sealed for the 15's (1.5 each) which will be 2.33:1
