Default alternator question

If I have a internally regulated alternator that is supposed to be set at 14.8 and the highest I ever see I'd 13.8 then idles between 13.2-13.3. I have made a thread awhile back about how when at a stop light with the air on no radio on it drops to 11.9 till I give it gas and go then it will stay at 13.3-13.5. My stock alt I would see 14.1-14.3. I was told if I did the bypass with the internal regulator I would see more amps at idle and voltage would be steady at 14volt daily.

Took voltage readings at alt everything matches battery's are charged and I have took it to autozone to check my starter Batts and alt and everything is good. I just don't like dropping to 11.9 when sitting at a light with nothing on. What would you guys do?

A smaller overdrive pulley might help a little. Also if the alternator has a sense wire from the regulator, you could put a diode in line with it to raise the voltage by .6v. Although raising the set voltage won't do much if it's not spinning fast enough to reach the voltage in the first place.

Already have the smallest pulley it's a 275 amp 6 phase hairpin internally regulated from singer. I've had other alt which none have dropped voltage like this it don't seem normal. I also dropped the belt 1/2 inch

Another question let's say my engines idle isn't spinning the alt fast enough to achieve the 14.8 but what if I am in park in raise rpm it should then be able to hit that set point then right?

Honestly I don't know anything about the hairpin alts. My only experience is with AD244 alts, and in my experience the temp compensated regulators are a pain to keep the voltage you want.

Have you contacted Mr. Singer to ask if he has any input?

Another possibility would be to find? or have custom made a larger diameter crank pulley, which would spin all accessories faster.

He said I can send it back and he will take a look at it that's about it. I guess that's what I'm going to have to do.

No not using factory plug Have 1 wire plug that connects to ignition source so the alt turns on.

Also NOTE
The alternator on your vehicle is controlled by the vehicles computer (so charge voltage will stay around what the stock alt is also before a load is put on it). I carry a bypass as a $29 option you may add that will use a internal regulator in the alt (set for 14.8V cold) versus pcm control. This would just require you to tie the turn on wire for the alternator to any ignition source (so the alt turns on with the vehicle). This may possibly trip a battery light just like an external regulator would if you add the bypass.
