Default My CRX alt just shat the bed on me, any suggestions?

I'm trying to see what is out there for higher than stock amp alts for CRX's, and if anyone has any experience I'd like to hear what you have to say. My battery light came on when I started it and I did a quick dmm check and she starts and idles at 12.2 and when I turn it off goes back up to 12.4 :-| . So much for testing my two 12's vs my two 10's before it gets too cold....

Honda odyssey factory alts are 140a and can be had for $20-40 from junkyards. They're fairly straightforward to install too

No but it's close. If you have even the slightest imagination and mechanical skills, you can get it to fit

My Ohio Gen dropped right in. Zero mods. I *think* it's just a large case GM? You'll have to verify that with Tom though.

That's what Bill from Psychoacoustics said too, about the GM. I'll have to look into it. Hope it can be a cheaper alternative.
Thx.

That GM case is SOOO close to homemade...but no lumps!!

Is that size interchangeable with GM 130 or GM 144?

I'm in need of larger alt but a HO is really more than I need, the larger stock job would do me fine.

Partial derail of thread, wish I had a CRX.

Have to rev your crx to really test the alt. My voltage would drop lower than battery at idle to. They do that to save gas.

Not sure wtf you just said O_o - but are you referring to a large case gm in a crx needing to be revved higher rpm's than idle or else it produces less output than a resting ~12.4v batt?

my CRXBMPN wish list is getting larger... two more saz3000d's, a bigger than stock alt, two new fenders, another large battery, and a partridge in a mother****ing pear tree!
