Default SMD DD-1/Alpine IDA X-200/Hifonics BRZ1700.1D

Hello

HeadUnit-Alpine IDA X-200 2v F/R/S outs,all at flat settings.

Sub Amp-Hifonics BRZ1700.1D 4ohm unknown 2ohm 1200x1,1ohm 1700x1 for what its worth,its wired at 2ohm 1200x1.

I was using a dd-1 on a friends Alpine IDA X-200 to see where it clipped at ,i used track 1 40Hz -0db,but I couldnt get a reading through the RCA's ,couldnt even get the signal lite to come on the dd-1,let alone read 40Hz or where clipping/distortion was.Why would that be?

So I checked where the HU clipped/distortion. through the amp, using track 1 40Hz -0db and this way it detected the signal, the 40Hz with no clipping/distortion 35/35 volume. Why would it work this way and not the other?

I set the HD at 35,then used track 3 40Hz -5db,it detected signal, then 40Hz and gain was a little less than 3/4 up. Then tried track 5 40Hz -10db,the gain was a little more than 3/4. So i tried track 7 40Hz -15db to get the absolute out the amp,to see where it clipped/distortion, once again it read signal,40Hz but there was no clipped/distortion withe the gain all the way up.Why is that?

Thanks

If you read the manual it tells you the last track you used gives you the dirtiest signal but will give you the loudest system. I always use track 5 since it is a compromise.
