Default Mixing alt voltages and amperages

What happens if i mix alternator amperages? Such as a 220a and a 240a? What if i mix a 240a internally regulated at 14.4 and a stock 70~a at 13.8? Im thinking about having a bracket made for my cs144 singer alt to fit my honda temporary till i can get my honda alt built.

Will the 13.8 charge **** up my cs144 alt charging at 14.4?

the 13.8 should pretty much not put out anything till the 14.4 sags down to 13.8.

You could put a diode in line with the sense on the 13.8 alt to raise it's voltage by about .6 volts... I did that with my ad244 that sat at 14.1, brought it up to 14.7. The other alt is a temp compensated regulator set at 14.8. I can't get below 14v at the saz-3500 unless I get well into clipping.

What type of diode would i need to do this? Im going to be running 2 endo 3500s at a half ohm ea. This is just a little something im trying to do till i can get all of the electrical right as in id prefer to put my money into batts right now instead of an alt because i already have my 240a from my truck.

I used a rectifier diode salvaged from something, was likely a PC power supply that I had stripped. Basically I went through a pile of salvaged diodes with the multimeter and found one that had .6 volts forward drop. You could probably go to radioshack and get a couple of them for just a few $, as I understand it diodes are commonly 1.2v and 0.6v drop.

I put it in line with the sense wire on my ad244 4 wire harness (only actually using 2 wires of the 4, the sense and the one that's to a switched 12v) I believe the stripe goes toward the battery.

There's a thread / guide on smd about it, titled something like using diode to raise charging voltage

6A, 50V Rectifier Diodes (4-Pack) : Diodes | RadioShack.com

Got a radio shack nearby? I've used these before and they work fine.

EDIT: didn't see this mentioned but diodes are polarity sensitive.. so make sure you wire it properly or your alt will go full field..

Thanks for being specific.

I had a feeling those diodes were what I would need I used them on a past project. I had forgotten that they were directional thanks for the tip. Ill have to try it out.
