Default strapped amps vs gain matching

I am trying to figure out the best way to power 12 15s.

Would you run 3 7ks gain matched or would you run 6 3.5ks strapped to better handle rise and ease of install?

My box rise is 2.89 measured. (with 3 7.5ks wired to .5ohm each it clamped 15k gain matched)

Subs are set up in a v style wall so phase alignment will have to be done as well. Some the old school guys should make a post about.

I'm assuming you have D2s. If you don't want to change coils. Then I would run the 3.5ks strapped for maximum power and spl but for daily I'd stick with the 7.5ks. .5 strapped for daily is dangerous.

Unless it's a tunnel then you probably won't need time alignment. And if your box is common chambered then that is out of the question.

EDIT: just because you have 6x rise at your peak frequency doesn't mean you don't have barely any rise at another.

With the 7.5s it was wired using xfl d4s at .5ohm each amp. Time alignment picked up 1.5dbs at peak netting a 60.9. This time I am trying to be a little more efficient if at all possible by using 6 3.5s strapped at 1 ohm per pair using a more bandpass friendly subs. Each side of the v has 6 15s common chambered with farthest subs facing one another and 4 closest subs inverted.

Was up late talking with guys on possible phase issues with running 4 amps with the rear subs.

You time aligned subs differently on common chambers and gained spl? Hmm. I'm not saying I don't believe you but seems highly improbable.

And as soon as you switch subs your rise will change so staging with 3.5ks might not be the most power anymore

Maybe I am wording this wrong. Phase shift drivers and getting them time aligned is what netted the gain.

Phase is not the same as time alignment. And adjusting phase between subs would be horrible for music.

Adjusting phase is how you properly time align woofers in an enclosure that has some further back than others. Doing this allows the waves to sync up and reach the port at the same time. You have less cancelation as well because the phase is all aligned at the end of the enclosure

Edit: I've discussed this with micksh and this is what he told me

So, in your opinion I should just not worry about trying to use 6 3.5s and just stick with 3 7.ks. for daily music. And using 6 amps instead of 3 will not split the rise any better
