Default Anyone use siriusxm?

Was thinking about picking up a cheap reciever while its on sale.
Shopping Cart - Best Buy

The subscription price is only $10/month and would be good to throw some variety in my music. How do you guys like the service?

My main concern is having to use the auxillary port at a whopping... .5v? Wouldnt that make all my music quiet? Or would i be able to set my gains on a lower HU volume and boost the volume when on sirius? Never really used the aux ports on decks, so not sure how the gain factor works with them,

This will be going to the 80 prs, that isnt sattelite ready. Thought to try the aux ports if this is going to work.

Thoughts?

If i had to give the sound an equivilent mp3 bitrate i would say it's between 128 and 96 thats for the music only, comedy and talk channels are probably 2/3rds that.

About 12-13 years ago I had my sportster 4 sirius tuner run via the headphone jack and rca adapter into the ai-net on a Alpine CDA-7873 the sound was pretty damn good. Mind you I was only using the built in v-drive amp to push some mb quart discus 5x7's.

I'm gonna miss the current satellite radio i have (alpine deck with outboard tuner) when i put in the 6+ side slider kit in my truck, the itunes tagging and shazam helped me discover alot of awesome music on the electronic music channels.

This is all just my experience, not sure how your system will react.

I had xm when we rented a dodge van a few years ago. I loved it. Found a TON of good electronic music on BPM. That's pretty much the only good station I found. The rap stations talked wayyyy too much.

Its ok. Its nice to have variety and even on the hiphop channels ill check them out to hear good new songs that arent on regular fm stations. Usually ill just shazam it from there and download it. $10 a month is too much though. Ive been able to get 5 months at a time for $26.

I listen to it in the cars at work all the time, they tend to repeat a rotation for quite a bit, although I listen to 53 chill mainly.
It is def better than regular radio as far as selection and less talking.
I prefer internet radio over all, mainly Soma.

Ill look more into internet radio. I have plenty of mobile data to use, dont do much more than this unless im on wifi. Good idea, thanks.

As for the subscription, it always seems to be lower when you buy a lengthy period. I figured id try it for a month and if i like it ill buy into it. I could sell the reciever for what im paying for it, so $10 doesnt seem such a bad gamble.
