Default Aero Port help

Ok so my brain is ready to explode...
I know i need 8-12 square inches of port area per cube. I will be running about 5 cubes gross with an ethos 18 running saz 1500.1d v2...

planning on using an 8 inch sonotube and probably make a fiberglass flare on the baffle end. Needs to be 25.25 long according to most calculators...

Does that sound right? i know it is around 50 square inches of port, any tips for the flare, should i bother? will there be a lot of port noise without the flare?

HELP! lol

This is what I use.

Sounds like you're wanting to use an 8" port.

Edit: you shouldn't have any issues with port noise. use the calculated to figure out port length for your desired tuning. Don't forget to add the volume of port.

The Ethos like alot of port area. If it were a slot port you would want around 100sq in for an 18. Not sure what that translates to with an aero port......

With rise you might barely pull 1kw from that amp on really dynamic peaks. You'll be fine with a single 8". You will not need to flare it unless you want to play around with it a bit and try to gain a little on the meter.

If you have to choose... The inner flare is more important.

Agreed. Even a small baffle to give the open port end a flush surface is good (plus it helps brace the port).
