Default 30hz lpf on mono amp?

Who goes down this low?

I hear voices in the sub too often...wondering if I should consider amps that have a lower lpf.

EDIT: My amp apparently has 30hz but I still hear voices and anything about 41hz just sounds like crap...

Ya I'm not sure why youd set lpf @30, even sloped, that's going to eliminate a fair amount of output. I usually set mine around 55hz. Tuned at 30, I have the bandwidth I prefer

yeah but too lazy to install one. Would it matter if I use a line driver with it?

Cause anything above 40hz just resonates the cabin and I've killed a few subs playing above 40hz. Luckily they were under best buy warranty.

i dont understand how you're hearing your vocals through your subs with the lpf that low... i set mine pretty high(80hz) and i dont hear any vocals. it sounds like an issue with something providing the signal? i have seperate sub pre outs.

Sounds like your midbass is severly lacking if you are hearing voice from your sub. If I turn off my flutes 70-500 HZ, maybe I could hear it but I know I def can't any other way.
Do you have like 0dB or 70Hz and up until you hit the PA mids? Maybe that is why you even notice it?
I have a PPI DSP so I can turn channels off to tune, but what are you listening to that it presents this problem?

I mean when I turn the front stage off because I can't tell if it's my car rattling or something is wrong with the sub. Isn't it bad to play that high on a sub?

A filter has a gradual roll off so you will hear some frequencies above the xover point no matter what you do.
You could run a sub with out a LP filter, it would not hurt anything except ears potentially. You will get port resonance up high that sounds nasty but the inductance of the sub will naturally roll it off at some point, just higher than optimal.

You guys are high or something.

Those aren't voices from his subs.....rather in his head.
