Default no bass from Image Dynamics xs69

took my truck to get my lows and highs rewired. While their, I asked them to put in some new 6x9's I picked up.

I've read mad positive reviews about these and how they can kick up some sweet bass for mids. Because I hear no bass (all highs), I thought it was my amp settings (currently set on Full) and looked at settings on my NEX-4100, eq is in the middle and digital crossover doesn't give me much of a sound difference while playing with the settings.

Few questions...
I pop'd open the component crossover and noticed there are pins with a black cap, am I to play with these (as seen in the pic)?
The 6x9 has another set of terminals but they are aidle, nothing is connected to them. Are they supposed to be wired in with the active terminals?
Or is it just a crap audiobahn amp (next on my upgrade list)??

Thanks for the help peeps

I believe those idle terminals are used for the tweeter when you mount them to the on the 6x9 in a coax configuration.

Looking at the crossover, it looks as though you may want to fiddle with the jumpers on the lower left as I see low-pass and all-pass selections, either that, or you may want to review your head unit settings to see if you have a high-pass xover set too high

Thanks. My first thought was messing with the jumpers, just wasn't sure as I've never had or heard of crossovers having this option. Will play with it in a few hrs

oh yeah, many passive crossovers of higher quality over the years have had jumpers or selector switches for roll off/roll in and response curves,.. some even had passive eq's

try this to troubleshoot the issue,... power the 6x9 directly off the amp without the passive xover at LOW volume,... if you have a low pass setting on the amp, use it. if you get the lower freq's youve been missing, it is your passive xover, if you dont, it's somewhere in your signal chain between head unit and amp

Just opened my door on lunch.

Put 6x9 directly to amp, sounds the same. Switched the amp to LFP and the 6x9 sounds like its under water, still no bass. HFP sounds like super earbuds, good highs but no bass around.
Wired back to crossover and started messign with the little black caps (all 3 settings), the sound changes but only effects the highs. Slim to none on the Low Freq of the crossover.

Could be my wiring on the amp or it has to be between HU and amp?
I messed with all the eq/crossover/fade/speaker volume on the HU and I don't see much of a difference on mids/bass with my SUb off.

yeah, its gotta be something in your signal chain,... id start by using jumper rca's from the head unit directly to the amp to see if it's either the digi crossover or eq, if you get a better spectrum with the midbass, eliminate the possibility of each component using the jumper rcas working your way forward to the source
