Default Which would you do?

What we're working with:
Stock electrical.
Brand new Ford Fucus.

What we're installing
One 1000 watt 18"
One 1000 watt rms shit amp.

Measured out, its about a 13 foot run of cable from the battery terminals to where the amp in going to temporarily be.

Now, what would you use to boost the stock electrical, silly caps, a battery, or both right next to the amp?

Why?

A batt. If it were me and its as i assume a daily driven banger. Due to cost, and the reserve capacity for extended play times at idle.

^^Good point
If it makes any difference, already have boost caps and the batteries.

caps, recently switched from 2 103AH C&D in the back to 2 banks of 3000F caps, while driving i have much more potential on the bass knob than before, even with stock alt. plus the ability to monitor your system is easier, at least for me, since you charge anywhere between 13.8v-14.4v but once you are in your batteries your only have 1v-2v (12.8v-10.8v) of reserve depending how hard you want to push your batteries, and in my mind weaken them by discharging them constantly. but with caps the discharge of voltage is gradual, and at a constant pace from say 14.4 all the way to as low as you want to push it. potentially until your amp protects since the caps have constant output until 0v, unlike batteries whose output severely falls off once drained

My experience has been that caps are crap and batteries are better.

I would say get an alt. That's where the power comes from, if it's an option.

I can't. It's a rental.

Sequense of thoughts.....with a lot missing of course:

"I'm going to the finals in Lufkin Texas."

"I dont have a spare tire, or state inspection"
".... uh rental dude....ok, I am going to get a rental."
"But stock systems in them cars suck.
".... I have extra equipment...."
....light bulb...
