caps, recently switched from 2 103AH C&D in the back to 2 banks of 3000F caps, while driving i have much more potential on the bass knob than before, even with stock alt. plus the ability to monitor your system is easier, at least for me, since you charge anywhere between 13.8v-14.4v but once you are in your batteries your only have 1v-2v (12.8v-10.8v) of reserve depending how hard you want to push your batteries, and in my mind weaken them by discharging them constantly. but with caps the discharge of voltage is gradual, and at a constant pace from say 14.4 all the way to as low as you want to push it. potentially until your amp protects since the caps have constant output until 0v, unlike batteries whose output severely falls off once drained
