Default 12v battery reading 20.5v

can someone please explain why my 12v battery reads 20.5 v?
and its not just the one, its both of them.
does this mean i just have one badass battery? lol

it started off at 13v and kept going up slowly from there. maybe my multimeter has a bad battery?
SOLVED
EDIT! the 9v battery inside multimeter almost exploded. it was bad Lol. replaced battery and got 13 v reading yay!

If you touch your multimeter prongs together and it gives you a reading subtract that from what you're actually testing. For example my multimeter reads .2 when I touch the prongs together so when I read my dual .7 coils it actually shows they read .9

He's reading battery voltage, not coil impedance

It's a bomb and it's gonna blow!
Don't let it reach 23.5volts!
