Default what gen explorer

I have decided to go with a Ford expo for my next build. Which model is better for the meter? 1st Gen (91-94) 2nd Gen (95-01) or 3rd Gen (02 -05)
4th Gen (06-10).

Dual alts easier on the 4.0 or v8?

Will be a street box ground pounder on 10 to 15k in the cargo area.

I like my 2nd gen, but I got it for reliability. The 5.0 RWD 2nd gen is easy to work on and built like a tank for the most part. It can be difficult to find a RWD though.

Get a 00-06 Tahoe. They get just as loud just as easy and have MUCH more room than explorers. Also, alt brackets are everywhere for cheap. My truck does a 155 on music with a pair of 18's and only $3k into my entire substage including electrical and wiring

My explorer did 153s with SA-12s and a 5k ...

Was a second gen. But for the love of god get a v8 and not a junk ass 4.0.

Heath lay has his 2nd Gen doing 161s with 4 15s and 2 tea with a no wall iirc. Don't quote me on amps.

Edit:

I built a 4 12 recently in a 2002 that did 151.7 with 4 x-12s in a 30 hz box with a single SAZ3500 on the glass sealed at 38 hZ

Don't see how you can go wrong with either.

72 impala, I got a few people in this area that don't believe it can be done. They don't understand how loud guys out there really are from the cargo area. They think you need a wall in a small suv to get that number.

Doug118, I have been following your build for a while very impressive. I had a 99 Denali for my last suv. 6 12s on 7k was fun and it got low, just not loud.
