Default Recommendations for 6.5's and Tweets

Hey all, I am working on a build right now, and I am unsure what I should look into for 6.5's and Tweets. I am currently running Nendo Pwx's, but they simply do not put out the sound I am looking for.

I am not looking for anything expensive, and am on a pretty tight budget right now.

I will be mounting 2 6.5's in the front doors, and I will be mounting 2 to my wall once its built. as for tweet's, I am going to mount them to the a pillar.

I have a Nendo 800.4 for power.

Thanks in advance
~

Best all around tweeter

Tymphany BC25SC06-04 1" Textile Dome Tweeter - these will take more than rated if crossed higher. I have 2 on a ks300.4 currently with no issues and about half gain, one per channel. Will be putting them on an 800/4 as well. These are also in a buddies car and he loves them.

http://www.parts-express.com/tymphan...-ohm--264-1390 - 100w rms.only $5 more.

Good SQ mids

Anarchy Woofer DIY Sound Group

https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.co...1/2-wool-cone/

Good PA mids

Soundstream SME.804 (sme804) 8" 4 ohm Pro Audio Series Midrange

Soundstream SME.658 (sme658) 6.5" 170W Pro Audio Series Midrange

Have the 8ohm version in my car and buddies car. Both pleased. Will be putting a third pair in his daughters car soon.

I suggest running 2 tweets per channel if doing 2 tweets each pillar. You can then run a total of 4 tweets and 4 mids on this amp.

I would get another amp for the additional 2 mids though.

What sound are you looking for? I have both the pwxs and the UN's and love them, had a lot of other 6.5's before and the UN's are my favorite. Are you doing super tweets?

The pwx's just seem to harsh to my ear. Not sure how to explain it.. They get loud, but not clean, if that makes any sense.. There is no distortion or anything, just don't like the sound they produce

Those 08's may be 100 watts RMS, but have a higher Fs, meaning a higher crossover point. IF you can get your tweets mounted on axis, there's not a lot better for the money than the Vifa/Tymphany XT25SC90-04. Good power handling, extremely smooth response on axis, very low Fs means you can cross lower than with other tweeters. Also has good efficiency, and while not as high as the SC06 or 08, you likely won't have to attenuate them to match with your mids.

If you have the depth, the Silver Flute's might be just what you are looking for: Low Fs, high power handling, good low end extension in the proper install, ability to play fairly high with a decently flat response. The Anarchies are stupid good drivers, as well. I'd personally take the Anarchy if you have the room. The big difference there is the price, you can buy 4 Silver Flute's for the price of a pair of Anarchy without shipping.
