Default coil tick questions

Hey guys,
I searched around but I surprisingly didn't find my answer. Can I damage amp by using subs (yardsale) with a coil tick ?

They will be in a ported box in my trunk so I doubt the ticking will bother me but I just don't want to damage my amp.

Yeah, the ohms are fine on both of them. The box they came in say "tick" and they are QC fail.

Probably a tick at high excursion. I had a yardsale sub like that. Never heard it in the box and I bumped it hard for a long time until I sold it to a friend.

I've always wondered what causes the tick at high excursion? Is it the coil itself actually coming in contact with something or is it the leads overstretching?

slight variance/deviation in the spider pick (more resistance in one spot), slightly uneven lead lengths, misaligned coil. in a normal ish gap, theres room for the coil to wiggle but at hih excursion, the deviation gets exaggerated

only issue you "could" have is the tick (usually former hitting pole) wearing through causing a short but its not real common as the pole would act as a simple series conductor

They are sa-12 v3 subs.
I need to build the box for them. I took out my current sub to motivate me to build the box sooner
I haven't tested them but I'll try to tonight. I'm just going by what it said on the box (tick)
I hope it's not too bad

Update:
I tested the subs I received and found the terminal leads very close to the spiders. Before testing them I bent the terminal leads up and tested them.
I didn't experience any ticking while I did a free air test. The only noise was them bottoming out! I guess I got lucky with my purchase. I finished my box today, 3.3 cubes net with a 6" aeroport
and i will install it tommorow with my tramps dsp3k. Thank you Sundown
