Default Are there any good cheap components

I'm looking to buy 4 sets of 6.5 components to run in my 98 c1500 and was wondering if there's any high quality components in the 100 dollar per set range

Why 4 sets in a pickup? Why not do 1 or 2 nicer sets? If you're just trying to get loud why not get some decent pa mids and tweets. Pioneer ts-d's are ok if you're dead set on 4 sets but they're getting a little harder to find.

I'm trying to make sure I get clear over the two soundqubed hdc315 that are in the back and I have 2 cadence d1004 amps so I figured why not run 4 sets. But if you or any one else have had experience with these trucks I'm all ears I'd rather do it right the first time

I don't have any experience with that truck but if it were me rather than waste $400 on 4 sets of mediocre components i would look into pa stuff if all you're looking for is louder. I would do 2 6.5's and one supertweeter on each side. That'll definitely keep up with 2 hdc3's. Not sure if one set of components would, i've only run one of those subs at a time.

i personally run 4 pairs of 6.5's in my front doors. I used to run CT sounds components and now i run Silver Flutes with tweeters from Parts express. I chose not to do PA's because I have honestly never been impressed with the full range response as well as sound staging of PA speakers. the 80hz-160hz always seem to lack and they just didnt fit my personal taste. PA's would definitely be louder, but i wanted my car doors to sound like a nice set of home theater towers and that is exactly what i got. just my 2 cents

Not components but a vifa tweet + silver flute mid would be great with an active amp. $45 per set.

Or swap mids to pa mids if you don't need mid bass or exodus anarchy for more midbass.

^^^The PA 10's in my doors are my midbass.

OP go the active route and you will never run components again. It's much cheaper to buy raw drivers, for $400 you could have a REAL NICE front stage. Silver flutes are a popular choice but there are many that sound great. I'm running an active 3 way and spent $400 on 14 drivers. I always get comments on how my mids sound.

Parts express and build your own components. Dayton audio and Vifa are two companies to look into for "cheap" comp sets. They also have the Pyramid W64 6.5s that sound really good for the low price point IMO. Then you have the ever popular Seleniums that sound amazing for the money.

If loud and punchy is what you're after (that home theater sound) you might want to step up to larger drivers - 8" or 10" mids. They'll dip a little lower FS wise and you can x over closer to your substage to get better imaging.

In the end it's your car and your ears so only one person HAS to like it - You.
