Default Sundown 3500d at 1ohm or .5ohm

For starters im not a knoob to this...as I had 4 atomic 15s down to .5 ohm on 2 cactus sounds 5ks, 3 alts (2 300amp Nations) on 6 kinetik 2400s.

Nevertheless, I have a little system im putting together just for fun and street pounder....just looking to see if I will have the electrical necessary to run this thing a .5 Because im worried with box rise ill be around 2 ohm or so if i run it to 1ohm.

its a 4runner and the box is going to be right under 11 cubes net with aero ports.

Amp: sundown SAZ 3500d v1
subs 2 15" AA 3.0 v3
Singer 300 amp alternator
Big 3
2 runs of 1/0 from starter batter (d3400) back to one D3100
Dual 1/0 runs into the power/negative of the amp

Im just on the fence whether to get D2 or D4 subs...Input would be nice.

Thanks

You will be very hard pressed to get less than 2x rise so if you are wired to 1 you will see much higher than 2 ohms.

That being said I wouldn't be running a 3500 on a D3400 and a D3100, even with a big alt, at half ohm. I would be fine with running it at 1 ohm, it will still give you plenty of power. The difference would be a dB or two, not enough to care about straining the system if you aren't even going to compete with it. That's my two cents/

Still got the cactus amps? I miss my K9 more than any amp I had, it broke my 10k cherry :tear:

You have solid electrical, I'd wire it down to a half. Even if your voltage is dipping (dont' think it will be a issue though) you can always turn the gain down a touch and be more or less right where you would have been with 1ohm operation.

Bingo bro!!! Something only a mature bass head will recognize! Have the ass for burp time, and turn it down a bit for daily and don't kill it full tilt all day every day in your daily... This is the kind of advice that comes from being bassless due to making a mistake or two and learning something the hard way. Been there more than I like to admit but if you don't hoebag some equipment then you weren't trying hard enough to begin with...lol The whole, gotta cross the line a time or two to know where the damn thing is, rule....lol

Was thinking this EXACT same thing bro. Appreciate the input. This is also very good info for the people that arnt reckless with their equipment and know what they are doing.

True words spoken right here man. I've cooked an amp in the past and know exactly how and why. Learn from mistakes. Fix them and move on. No way to learn on your own if you don't test the waters and figure it out for yourself.
