Default 30hz vs 32hz tune?

Will there be a discernible difference if I tune at 30hz vs 32hz? I'm trying to get nice and low, but I feel that with rear firing subs, I should tune a little higher so I can eek out those extra db'z because the rear firing will bring out the lows anyways?

Should I tune to 31hz? Am I making too big a deal out of this? :P

Are there tonal differences when tuning higher vs lower? I heard that tuning higher makes the bass sound more boomy?

Your thinking of a much bigger difference in tuning frequencies, like 30 vs 45. The difference between 30 and 32 is so small you wouldn't even notice. Chances are there are external variables that would change your actual tuning by a few Hz anyway so trying to be that precise is useless. Shoot for 31, you may end up with 29 or 33 one way or another. It's only playing "actual" tuning if you lug your enclosure out into a giant field and play it there.

Agree, you will notice a difference with around 5hz tuning difference, but not 2hz. For me the difference between 5hz (using the same size box and only adding an external port) was either you had your sound quality, shaking everything but not real loud bass @30hz ....To loud, distance hearing, buzz the hair in your nose type of bass @35hz. I honestly perfered the 35hz tune. Some love the low lows....but its too quiet for my deaf ass. Plus i love that buzz your teeth, spl type bass myself...

32 was way better for my application. I really don't see the point tuning below 30hz
