If you're running an amp(s) to your speakers you can new wire from your amp to your speakers.

If you use your HU stock wire the only way you would get the signal from your amp is if you splice your wire.

If you would like to list your vehicle, size of your door speakers, and amp, we would gladly recommend you some speakers to fit your application.

My concern is will it catch on fire with 100rms going to each speaker on the stock wires also what would be wrong with splicing into the factory wires

Some people choose to rewire with everything fresh...and use thicker wiring. I have my CDT comps running from an amp from a small amount of factory wiring running 75 watts or so....ain't no way there gonna catch fire UNLESS you use too small of a wire gauge and really crank those speakers.

You should be fine running that wattage on the factory wiring, unless you were running hundred's of watts, then I'd say change out the wiring. I ran 16 gauge which should be fine with you also if you choose to use that same gauge.

I sorta did with my s10 here's a few pics Notice the 3 top screws on the speaker when I 1st removed the door panel lol. Whoever installed them should be shot. No screws on either side, nor the bottom. Also got rid of that thick wire harness.....it's only 2 wires coming out of it. Unnecessary to have imo.

You could be fine with using the factory wire but you never know.

You can get some 16/14/12 CCA for cheap and will cause no problems.

I would use OFC myself but that's me.

Some people like the CCA vs. OFC but as Mayhem said, why take the chance something could happen later on down the road. I'm a do it right the 1st time type of guy.

if your doing 75-100 watts on pwx's its a waste of time, they are power hogs and need it to get loud, the un's will sound good on 100 watts, or switch to another brand.

I just went through the same thing. I ran all new 16 gauge. Never know if you're gonna be upgrading in the future, might as well do it only once.
