The time has come to build an entirely new vehicle and I'm torn between actually building the new one or buying someone else's car that's already built. Finances are there right now to buy the car or do my own build.
The built vehicle is one of all time favorite builds. It's a early 2000's chevy impala with 2 18" FI N2's in a trunk 4th, 10 10's, 8 8's, and a bunch of super tweeters. Has a couple Taramp's T20.2's, HD8000's, and other small amps. The car is straight up NASTY and sounds crystal clear.
I bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee off one of my ex's for $300. It runs and drives but looks like a toilet, which I don't care about since it'll be purely for audio purposes. That build would consist of 4 18 4th order b-pillar, 16-20 10's, 4 3500's, 2 18v alts, etc etc etc.
The equipment and material will cost about the same as what I can buy the Impala for, but I'd obviously have to build and install everything for the Jeep. The Jeep would be much louder SPL wise but the Impala is literally perfectly balanced, mid-50's substage and more than enough front stage. I'm lazy so I prefer to buy the Impala but I have too much ego to buy the car from a friend/fellow competitor who everyone knows built the car
What would you guys do? It's ALOT of cash to drop which is what's really making the decision hard. I don't want to drop $10k and regret the decision
